A Woodrow Wilson student is accused of bringing a gun to school, even though police did not find a weapon.
Cpl. Sam McClure of the Beckley Police Department says the 17-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday and charged with bringing a dangerous weapon into an education facility.
So he's been charged with bringing a dangerous weapon (as opposed to a non-dangerous weapon) into school- even though they have no actual evidence of the weapon being present.
School officials told police Wednesday morning that a student reportedly had a handgun in his possession. The campus was placed under lockdown and searched by K-9 units but no weapon was found.
The arrest was based on witness reports that led police to believe the boy had brought a gun to school at some point.
And apparently belief is now enough for an arrest. Gee, I always thought that some proof was required.

It should also be noted that the "dozens of weapons" mentioned and pictured in the CNN story would appear to be plastic "Airsoft" style air guns. These are not considered weapons, but toys. The only weapon mentioned is "bomb-making materials (these could be household chemicals), and a 9mm "assault rifle, but 9mm is a pistol round, which calls into question the use of the ever-popular fear-this-now term (not that it isn't just as deadly).
News is desperate for stories to group with the other recent shooting events and feed fear. Think for yourself people.
No one wants to educate themselves with the facts that this is a blown up just to get negative attention on law abiding gun owners.
A tip based on hearsay, where was the 9mm carbine found in the house? Is it illegal to own a book?
So are you saying when I was in high school, and I talked to other kids about my parents taking me to go shoot, and i would embellish the story of the day. That a kid gets scared because hey, you know columbine it can happen, because the media shoves it down your mindless throats.. I could've gotten in trouble because of my story?
I don't know about you, but fantasy thinking isn't illegal and it shouldn't ever be.
Information shouldn't be illegal and will never be, you hippies are going to let the gov't take rights away that we are entitled to, because of the fear mongering media feeding you sensationalist bullshit.
Learn, educate yourself on the facts. Question everything. Don't believe what's given to you investigate yourself.
The only problem here is, that air soft never changed the way they described their weapons like paint ball did.. They call their weapons markers, not guns. It used to be called guns, but now they are markers, they still got a trigger, and shoot shit, but they mark you.. Not shoot you..
Air soft shoots plastic pellets that are harmless and don't even sting at a distance, and the most pain you'd get is the same thing as a flick of your finger to the skin.
I hate the news media, no one has the balls to separate themselves. Imagine if one organization actually asked the right questions and reported the correct news.. It would make the others look like dumb asses.
