Clueless on the News

This doesn't surprise me- Jon Snow of the incredibly biased and left-leaning Channel 4 news is giving off about "poppy fascism" following complaints by viewers over his refusal to wear one. He says, "I do not believe in wearing anything which represents any kind of statement."

Of course, why on earth should he wear a symbol of remembrance for the men and women of the armed forces who laid down their lives to fight for freedom? Including the freedoms he currently enjoys when they fought and died combating a real fascist state.

What a complete and utter [
insert foul language here].

As mentioned by the Royal British Legion, doesn't he also have the freedom to choose whether or not he wants to wear a poppy?

Of course he has the freedom to choose- but I'm not surprised that such a so-called liberal is opposed to honouring those who gave their lives for our freedoms. Or that he has the stupidity to compare those who question him for it fascists.

It displays a staggering ignorance on his part. He's quite lucky that he isn't forced to wear a little swastika symbol to display his party loyalty.

Couldn't he have just said that it's his policy to wear no symbols at all regardless of the cause without having to resort to foolish namecalling?

From what I heard Jon Snow said he does respect those who gave their lives in the two world wars and the only reason he wasn't choosing to wear a poppy was purely because he doesn't wear anything which he feels could be construed as having some form of political statement behind it.

I guess it depends which report of that news item one has read/heard/seen and the bias it shows in leaving out certain details. That shouldn't really come as a surprise to any of us with our biased media.
