It's been two years today since I started this blog- though it seems like much, much longer. I haven't been able to post recently because my back pain's been quite bad. Bad enough that I can't really sit in front of my PC for any length of time. THe bad spot (hopefully) seems to be passing though, so with any luck I'll be able to start posting more frequently in the days to come.
In the meantime, I've just been to the cinema, with the aid of some rather pleasant medication, to see Pirates of the Caribbean- Dead Man's Chest. Personally I thought it was marvellous, much more entertaining than the first movie. It also has some very Cthonic elements; Davy Jones looked like a refugee from Innsmouth (and the make-up was superb, even with that visage you could tell is was Bill Nighy doing the acting) and the Kraken was reminiscent of Cthulu itself.
I'm really looking forward to the third film At The World's End.
UPDATE- Missed this when I first looked at the Wiki entry, but you can read Shadow Over Innsmouth by H.P. Lovecraft online.
