Moral Authority

From LGF comes this story of Howard Dean claiming that the situation in Israel is really all the fault of the Republicans; if the Democrats were in power, Hamas and Hezbollah would not be kidnapping, murdering and firing rockets. He then goes on to provide proof of this argument-

"We would have had the moral authority that Bill Clinton had when he brought together the Northern Irish and the IRA."

The moral authority of backing a process that put a still armed and active terrorist organisation into local government you mean?

And, just to show Howard Dean's incredible grasp of the situation, the IRA mostly are Northern Irish too. Clinton didn't need to do any "bringing together", the IRA terrorists are citizens of Northern Ireland already, ignoring our legal and political framework in favour of guns, bombs, murder and intimidation to get their way.

Sure sounds like the Dems idea of moral authority to me.
