David Codrea's War on Guns is a must read blog- even if the Second Amendment is not an issue close to your heart. The reason is that he has an ongoing series of stories called "We're the only ones..." detailing firearms mishaps committed by law enforcement officers and also the outrageous way in which LEOs are frequently treated differently by the judicial system. Don't believe that the United States has a protected class of person, treated entirely differently under the law than Joe Average? You're in for a shock.
A Philadelphia School District police officer...grabbed a 3-year-old boy by the throat after the child accidentally squirted his car with a water gun on 17th and Tasker.
Police said Bradley threw the boy to the ground and smashed his water gun before re-entering his home and allegedly retrieving an unregistered firearm.
Neighbors said he threatened them with the .38 caliber handgun...
But after hearing, a judge threw out the most serious charges, leaving only misdemeanors.
This is just the latest in a long line of stories that War on Guns covers almost daily. Do you honestly think that YOU would be facing misdemeanour charges if you assaulted a three year old child and threatened your neighbours with an unregistered firearm?
