Doing the Rounds

With the sad news that Chrenkoff is going to stop blogging soon, you've probably been wondering where the blogosphere was going to get its "Good News series" from. Wonder no more- All Things Conservative is taking up the slack with Iraq and Alenda Lux has an Afghanistan column up too. Good work from both.

"So stating categorically that Islam is a religion of love that rejects violence – This is a big lie. "Take them and kill them wherever you find them." This is taken from the words of Allah"
The words of a Muslim- terrorist turned researcher Anis Al-Naqqash.

Mrs. Du Toit has a great post up on how the war on terrorism has changed us all- things will never go back to normal. If you're a parent the introduction will ring particularly true.

A post that will probably bring a tear to your eye- the last member of a patrol of USMC Mad Ghosts hit by an IED (the others were killed at the time) nine months ago has passed on. Staff Sergeant Chad Simon received shrapnel wounds to the head. He leaves behind a wife and six year old son. I won't say anymore because BlackFive has put together the story as well as could be done. If you feel the need to do something after reading this please go to Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.

Another great post by Michael Yon- Jungle Law. Apart from anything else he also gives us a little insight into the IEDs used against our troops- "double bangers", "five bangers", car bombs loaded down with 20-25 artillery shells. As always, essential reading.
