Monday Rush

Another late night catch up!

First off, proof positive that the EU has overstepped the mark- they're trying to get Bavarian barmaids in traditional attire to cover up to "protect them from the sun's harmful rays". Needless to say, many people are annoyed by the proposal, not least the barmaids themselves.

Mark Steyn has another fantastic column out on the topic of the Democrat's "almost" won election and their stupid criticism following Bush's good fitness report-

Sitting behind yet another Vermont granolamobile bearing the bumper sticker "Bush Scares Me," I found myself thinking that perhaps the easiest way to reduce childhood obesity in American families might just to be to shout out, "Look! There's big scary Bush! Run! Run for your lives! No, wait, there's John Bolton, too! Better cut through the park before he puts his hands on his hips in an aggressive manner!" Indeed, when yesterday's coming man John Edwards dusts off his "Two Americas" stump speech -- the one with the heartwarming Dickensian vignette about the shivering girl whose parents can't afford to buy her a winter coat ($9.99 brand new from Wal-Mart) -- he might want to add a section about how an easy way for shivering coatless girls to keep warm is to run around the block a couple of times.

The Left shows how incredibly "tolerant" they are by linking to a blogger who slams the wonderful Michelle Malkin.

As you've probably heard Netanyahu has reigned from the Sharon government-

“What do we get in exchange for the withdrawal?” Bibi asks in his resignation notice. “What do we get in return for the uprooting of families and their children, homes, and graves? We’ll get an Islamic terror base. In recent months I hoped the government would open its eyes in the face of this clear reality and change course, but the opposite happened.”

An anti-war activist gets himself shot in a gunfight over an argument with a war-supporter. Yeah, he did draw first. Why is it that the anti-war types seem to be the most violent? BTW, Clayton Cramer has a great blog- if you haven't checked it out yet, do stop by and heave a read through his posts.

Two straight guys are planning on getting married- to each other- to highlight the financial implications of the gay marriage laws in Canada.

This one hasn't gotten much attention on the blogs I've seen today- so far. A pizza billboard in New Zealand is causing controversy because it features an image of George Bush with the logo- "Hell: Too good for some evil bastards". Classy.

Georgia has passed a "disturbing new law" which *gasp* requires people to present a photo ID
. Apparently this will put up obstacles to black voters and as such is racist and so it must be fought. Bulls**t.
Here in N. Ireland a photo ID is required to prevent voter fraud. When you register to vote you're informed of the ID which will be accepted at the polling station- driver licence, passport- and if you don't have these you can apply for a- wait for it- voter ID card. Simple. When will these asshats realise that a fair vote is one that takes place without fraud?

Finally, and on a much lighter note, check these out:

Which Daisy Duke do you prefer? Newbie Jessica Simpson or classic Catherine Bach. I vote for the latter- Retrocrush has the evidence necessary to make your mind up.

Awesome high-speed photography of a bullet hitting a bubble.

There's no contest whatsoever. It has to be Bach.
