I've written before on the dangers that the Gaza pull out poses- creating a void which will be filled with Islamist terrorists (an Al Qaeda linked group is mobilising to move in when the Israelis pull out), and offering terrorists a safe-haven for training and launching attacks- against Western interests in the region.
It seems that my fears are well founded and my prediction that an armed incursion may be necessary at some point in the future might come about.
All Things Conservative reports- "Following Israel's departure from the Gaza Strip this month, Egypt will be free to arm the Palestinian Arabs with tanks, armored personnel carriers and other heavy weaponry, warned Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman Yuval Steinitz."
Egypt receives billions of dollars in aid from the US. In years to come it may notbe Israel which needs to go into Gaza, it could be a US force as they strike back at Al Qaeda training grounds there. If this is so, they could face weapons that the US has paid for.
Seems to me that it's time for the aid to Egypt to stop once and for all.
