BlackFive has done it again, this time with a post on Airman Kelemwork Tarriku-Shotts, formerly of Ethiopia. Rescued from poverty and brought to America for life-saving medical treatment, Tarriku-Shotts was then adopted and raised in the USA- and she chose to join the Air Force-
“I joined the Air Force because I wanted to grow up,” she said. “Patriotically, I wanted to (dedicate) some years to all those who fought for the freedom I am enjoying now. I am very proud (to be a servicemember).”
Airman Tarriku-Shotts understands what it's all about. Go read it all.
