A Marine with 2nd Platoon, Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment peers outside a building, scanning for enemy activity during a patrol in Ramadi May 23. Weapons Company conducted a snap vehicle checkpoint patrol in downtown western Ramadi to disrupt insurgent activity in the battlespace. 3/8 is currently deployed with I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Al Anbar Province to develop the Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market-based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
