Kos Misleads

LGF has a post about Kos' defence of his "screw them" comments. Here's the part that caught my eye-

What I can do is I can say the fact is the reason, the context for that quote was solidarity with my brothers and sisters in arms, Marines and soldiers. I wore combat boots. I served during the first Gulf war and people are making a choice between private armies and mercenaries.

Actually, Kos didn't serve in the Gulf War, he was just in the Army at the time the war was raging; he sat that confict out safely in Germany. But you wouldn't know that from reading this interview.

It's my favourite trick at work. Make a true statement that implies something else and let the victims make the mental connection. It's al explainable later under a misunderstanding if it comes out.

He say 'I served during' We heard 'I served in'. Our misunderstanding from his manipulation.

Politicians do this a lot. Plus they actually lie as well which helps to cover this up.
